About

Our Story

Coming from the well-known Piazza Musso racing family, generations have been involved both on and off the track – from competitive racing to mechanical preparation and performance engineering.

That background has shaped the precision attention to detail, and respect for automotive history that defines every project we undertake today. We specialise in Classic vehicle restorations, recreations, mechanical rebuilds, custom fabrication, racing builds and period-correct detailing, treating every car as if it were our own. Whether it’s a full ground-up restoration, a performance-focused rebuild, or preserving an original survivor, our goal is always the same: to honour the character and story of each vehicle while delivering exceptional workmanship.

Based in Brisbane Australia, we are proud to bring international experience, racing heritage, and genuine passion to fellow enthusiasts who value quality, authenticity, and craftsmanship. Because classic cars deserve more than repairs – they deserve to be preserved for the next generation.

Our strength comes from our team. Each specialist is chosen for skill, experience, and a genuine love for the craft. Their pride and expertise shape every restoration and fuel our commitment to excellence.

Led by founder Paolo Piazza Musso, the Piazza Musso family name has been part of motorsport for decades, with a legacy spanning karting, rallying, circuit racing, off-road competition, and driver development across South Africa, Italy, and beyond.

From Giovanni Piazza Musso’s championship-winning career in karting, rally, and production car racing, to the success of Paolo and Claudio Piazza Musso in rallying, Formula Ford, and international karting, motorsport has always been at the heart of the family.

In 1987, the family’s passion for performance and engineering evolved into Piazza Motorsport – a respected name in South African motorsport known for competition success, race preparation, and developing future champions.

Today, that same passion continues through a new chapter in Australia, bringing decades of hands-on experience, precision craftsmanship, and true racing heritage into every restoration project.

For the Piazza Musso family, motorsport has never just been a sport – it’s a way of life.

Paolo Piazza Musso - Founder & Master Restorer

Born in Cameri, Italy, and raised in South Africa, Paolo Piazza Musso has devoted a lifetime to motosport, engineering excellence, and the preservation of automotive heritage.  A former professional works rally driver for Sasol, one of South Africa’s most respected motorsport programmes, Paolo built his reputation competing at the highest levels of rallying and circuit racing.

His career provided a unique understanding of vehicle dynamics, engineering precision, and the relentless pursuit of performance – knowledge that now underpins every restoration project he undertakes.  His passion for motorsport extends far beyond competition, with a career dedicated to understanding, developing, and preserving some of the world’s most iconic performance vehicles.  International recognition followed in 2018 when Paolo’s painstaking recreation of the legendary Zakspeed Escort was invited to both the prestigious Goodwood Members’ Meeting and the internationally renowned Goodwood Festival of Speed in the United Kingdom – an honour reserved for exceptional cars and their custodians.

Today, based in Australia, Paolo brings this wealth of experience to the restoration and recreation of classic and collectible automobiles.  Every project is approached with the same philosophy that guided his motorsport career: authenticity, precision, and respect for the vehicle’s history.  His restorations are not simply rebuilds; they are carefully crafted tributes to automotive excellence, preserving these remarkable machines for future generations.  For Paolo, restoring a classic car is about more than craftsmanship – it’s about safeguarding a legacy.

Brad Selleck – Team Member

My passion for cars began at an early age, growing up around my father’s smash repair business.  Surrounded by vehicle repairs, restorations, and custom projects every day, it was almost inevitable that I would build a career in the automotive industry.  After completing Grade 10, I left school to begin an apprenticeship as a panel beater in the family business.

Over the next fifteen years, I developed extensive skills in both panel beating and automotive spray painting, gaining hands-on experience across all aspects of vehicle repair and refinishing.  While the day-to-day work focused on collision repairs, there was always a restoration project tucked away in the corner of the workshop.  Those restoration builds quickly became my greatest passion..  Driven by love of classic cars and custom vehicles, I eventually established my own business in Kingaroy – El Rancho Kustoms.  Together with my wife, I built and operated the business for over 20 years, specialising in vehicle restorations, custom fabrication, sandblasting, and high-quality paintwork.  Durning that time, we completed countless customer projects, including classic car restorations, hot rods, custom builds, and motorcycles.  Every project was approached with a commitment to craftsmanship, attention to detail, and creating vehicles that owners could be proud of.

After our children left home, my wife and I decided to simplify our lifestyle and relocated to Clontarf on Brisbane’s north side.  While stepping away from business ownership, I remained deeply involved in the restoration industry, working with several respected restoration workshops throughout the region.  Today, I am part of the team at Garagisti, where I have spent the past two years specialising in fabrication and custom vehicle construction.  My experience spans more than 35 years in the automotive industry, covering panel beating, spray painting, restoration, fabrication, and custom vehicle building.  From concours-level restorations to one-off custom creations, I take pride in combining traditional craftsmanship with practical experience to bring automotive visions to life.
